the Wolfingers

Every family has a story. This is ours.

We met in college, introduced by a mutual family connection, married several years later, and have been building our life together ever since. We're both small-town kids turned suburbanites, and we both work from home. This means our house is full of jobs, kids, dogs, and the occasional trumpet solo from Thomas. Kassie captures it all through her photography.

We have three kids who keep us on our toes and make life endlessly interesting. Our oldest lives up to every reputation the firstborn carries: she loves theatre and music and constantly strives to be the best version of herself. Our middle child keeps everything light; he's funny and witty, and loves baseball. Our youngest brings it all together with pure spunk and constant motion. She's full of imagination and is currently focused on setting the world record for most outfit changes in a single day.

We started this blog to keep track of life, but it grew into something more: a place where others might see themselves and realize they're not alone. We're doing our best to raise kind kids who love others regardless of their differences. Faith is part of who we are and quietly shapes the way we see the world. However you found us, we're glad you're here.

Pull up a chair — it's going to be a good ride.

They say the general rule for great barbecue is "low and slow." But as it turns out, that’s a pretty good rule for life, too. 🍖✨

Spending seven hours by the smoker this weekend gave me a lot more than just amazing ribs. It gave me a much-needed reminder to slow down, disconnect from screens a bit, and pour back into myself and my family.

If you’re feeling caught up in the daily rush, take a look at our new post, Lessons from a Seven-Hour Cook. It might be the sign you need to take a breather this week.
