Every family has a story. This is ours.
We met in college, introduced by a mutual family connection, married several years later, and have been building our life together ever since. We're both small-town kids turned suburbanites, and we both work from home. This means our house is full of jobs, kids, dogs, and the occasional trumpet solo from Thomas. Kassie captures it all through her photography.
We have three kids who keep us on our toes and make life endlessly interesting. Our oldest lives up to every reputation the firstborn carries: she loves theatre and music and constantly strives to be the best version of herself. Our middle child keeps everything light; he's funny and witty, and loves baseball. Our youngest brings it all together with pure spunk and constant motion. She's full of imagination and is currently focused on setting the world record for most outfit changes in a single day.
We started this blog to keep track of life, but it grew into something more: a place where others might see themselves and realize they're not alone. We're doing our best to raise kind kids who love others regardless of their differences. Faith is part of who we are and quietly shapes the way we see the world. However you found us, we're glad you're here.
Pull up a chair — it's going to be a good ride.

We are the Wolfingers. And this is our blog. We are sharing about our life, our love, our triumphs, and our struggles. We hope you join us as we navigate this beautiful life.
Peace out 2nd grade… Hello 3rd! 📚
This kid had such a great year, and we couldn’t be more proud of him. He worked hard, grew in confidence, stayed true to himself, and somehow managed to make us laugh every single day. He’s funny, smart, kind, and gives his best in everything he does.
One of my favorite things about him is how completely himself he is — he wears what he wants, says what he thinks, and never tries to be anyone but William. I think back to that shy little boy in preschool and Kindergarten who only shared little glimpses of himself, and it’s been such a gift watching him grow into someone who shines so brightly.
We love getting a front row seat to watching him grow into the awesome person he is becoming!
This girl rocked her first year of middle school!
She worked hard all year and finished with a 4.0 GPA, got involved in KAY Club (and was elected as an officer for next year), performed in two school productions, played cello in orchestra, attended I ❤️ Cello Day, and was honored as 6th Grade Female Tiger of the Year.
But more than any accomplishment, I’m proud of the kind, bright, determined person she is becoming. She brings so much light wherever she goes, and we’re so thankful we get a front row seat to watching her grow.
Emmy Lou…. The end of Pre-K… and somehow almost a Kindergartener!
I truly cannot believe it, but here we are. This girl keeps us laughing, keeps us guessing, and definitely keeps us on our toes. She is fiercely independent, funny, inquisitive, kind, and completely, unapologetically herself.
One of my favorite stories from this year: I asked her if she ever gets in trouble at school and she said, “Well yeah… but I don’t really care.” I may not love that she gets in trouble sometimes, but she just doesn’t let it keep her from being who she is and I love that about her!
There is something really special about the way she moves through the world with confidence, curiosity, and a lot of personality. I have a feeling she’ll keep us on our toes in the very best ways, and being her mama is one of my favorite things ❤️
They say the general rule for great barbecue is "low and slow." But as it turns out, that’s a pretty good rule for life, too. 🍖✨
Spending seven hours by the smoker this weekend gave me a lot more than just amazing ribs. It gave me a much-needed reminder to slow down, disconnect from screens a bit, and pour back into myself and my family.
If you’re feeling caught up in the daily rush, take a look at our new post, Lessons from a Seven-Hour Cook. It might be the sign you need to take a breather this week.
